Two weeks off

Honestly, it's like everyone on planet pop took a holiday at the same time as me. Here are the only two videos worth mentioning from the past 14 days.

Calvin Harris - I'm Not Alone

With his cunning mixture of plaintive vocals and banging synths, Calvin has invented a whole new genre, but what shall we call it? Indie-rave? Ravindie? Vindarave? Vindaloocore? Corblimeycore? Nu-Faithless? I'm sure the NME will have come up with something more suitable by next Wednesday.

Britney Spears - If You Seek Amy

Like Kerry Katona doing The Vagina Monologues, this song aims for shocking and risque, only to land on tiresomely predictable. The video does nothing to improve matters (ooh, is that her crotch? No.)

If you can't be bothered to watch it, a helpful Britney fan has filmed himself doing just that so you can see how you would have reacted (?!).
