"We are the spoons!"
Marina and the Diamonds (whose I Am Not A Robot is my favourite single of the year to date) have finally announced her first "official" single.
It's called Mowgli's Road and, as the name suggests, it has got a jungle "vibe". That's jungle in the sense of chimps and tigers, rather than Roni Bloody Size, or Toto Coelo.
Journalists: Words that could be used to describe this song include quirky, distinctive, exciting, hypnotic, immense, deranged, barking, energetic, plinky-plonky, and utterly fucking brilliant.
Here is the song being performed for the BBC earlier this year.
Marina and the Diamonds - Mowgli's Road
PS - We asked Marina to describe her sound earlier this year and she said, "Alternative pop – but exciting. Not like wingo wango weird stuff". So now you know.
PPS - If anyone, anyone, compares this to Florence and the Machine, I will bite their ears off.
